Whether you use shampoo bars or commercial products, all hair can benefit from an occasional clarifying rinse to remove product build-up and restore the PH balance of your scalp.
Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
Apple cider vinegar has anti inflammatory properties that can soothe itchy or dandruff prone scalps and can remove product build up from hair leaving it soft and smoothed. Use this rinse once a week after washing with a shampoo bar or occasionally as a shine booster.
Method: Mix 5 tablespoons apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of warm water. Pour onto scalp and along hair shaft after shampooing. Leave for 5 mninutes before rinsing thoroughly.
Tip: Avoid contact with your eyes, vinegar stings!
Bicarbonate of Soda Rinse
If you experiencing heavy or oily hair caused by a build up of product, an occasional rinse using bicarbonate of soda can help clarify your scalp.
Method: Mix 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda with 3 tablespoons of warm water. Work the mixture into your scalp instead of your normal shampoo. Rinse thoroughly.
Tip: A bicarbonate of soda rinse should only be used occasionally as regular use can damage hair and irritate your scalp. Please patch test on your skin before using and avoid contact with your eyes.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please ensure you are not allergic or intolerant to any ingredients before applying them to your skin. If irritation occurs, wash off immediately. When in doubt, do not use. Avoid contact with your eyes.
